I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e. When printing on regular or cardstock paper the print quality is good. Test printing pages and alignment pages are good. However, when changing the paper selection to "glossy", selecting "best" for quality, printing is very poor, reddish yellow and scattered in color. But when selecting "card stock/thick" paper and "best" for quality, while using glossy paper for printing, the quality is still poor but the colors are correct. Advice? Clean printer heads? Don't know how to do that and settings on "printers/scanners" doesn't give a "properties" selection.

Hi @karatemom2 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue might be related to a few factors: settings, paper type, and potential printhead issues. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and improve your print quality:
1. Check Printer Settings
- Paper Type: For glossy paper, make sure you select the correct paper type in the printer settings. If you're using glossy photo paper, choose "Photo Paper" instead of "Card Stock" or "Regular" to get the best results.
- Print Quality: You’re already selecting the "Best" quality, which is good for high-quality prints. Ensure that the print mode is set to "Photo" or "Best" when printing on glossy paper.
- Printer Properties: If the “Properties” option is not appearing, it could be hidden in the printer settings. Try accessing it from the print dialog on your computer:
- Open the document or image you want to print.
- Go to "File" > "Print" and select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e.
- Click on "Printer Properties" or "Preferences" from this window (it may be labeled differently depending on the software).
- Check if you can adjust the settings for paper type, print quality, or color management.
2. Clean Printheads
A poor print quality, especially with colors and hues appearing incorrectly, can often be due to clogged printheads. Cleaning them may help:
- From the Printer’s Control Panel:
- On your printer's touchscreen, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead (or similar).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to clean the printhead.
- Via HP Smart App (if you're using it on a computer or mobile device):
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Select Printer Settings > Tools > Clean Printheads.
- Repeat the Cleaning: Sometimes it may take more than one cleaning cycle, so you may want to repeat it to ensure the printheads are fully cleaned.
3. Check Ink Cartridges
Even with new cartridges, they might be defective or not properly seated. Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are fully connected and in place. If the issue persists, try replacing the cartridges again with new ones, especially if the issue appears only with certain colors.
4. Check the Paper
Ensure that the glossy paper you're using is compatible with your printer. Some glossy papers may require specific settings to work correctly, so make sure the paper is rated for inkjet printers and is loaded properly in the tray.
5. Update Printer Drivers Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
If your drivers are outdated, this could also affect print quality. To update the printer drivers:
- Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your OfficeJet Pro 8025e.
- Install the updated drivers and restart your printer and computer.
Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
