Hi @John19582,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Poor print quality on your HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer can be caused by several factors, even after cleaning and alignment. Let’s troubleshoot further.

Check Ink Levels

  • Ensure that both the black and color ink cartridges have enough ink. If one is low or empty, it can affect print quality.
  • Replace any low cartridges with genuine HP cartridges.

Inspect the Cartridges

  • Remove the cartridges and check for any visible damage or dried ink on the nozzles.
  • Gently clean the electrical contacts and nozzles with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.

Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Report

  • On the printer control panel:
    1. Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance.
    2. Select Print Quality Report.
  • Inspect the report for any streaks, lines, or faded colors. This will help identify the specific issue.

Perform a Second Cleaning Cycle

  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Perform a deeper cleaning cycle if the first cycle doesn’t improve quality.

Paper and Print Settings

  • Ensure you’re using the correct paper type for your print job (e.g., photo paper for images, plain paper for text).
  • Check the print settings:
    • In the print dialog box, select Properties or Preferences.
    • Choose the correct paper type, print quality (set it to Best), and color options.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Check if your printer has the latest firmware installed:
    • Visit HP's Support Page and download the latest firmware for the ENVY 5055.

Check for Software or Driver Updates

  • Make sure the HP Smart app or printer driver is up to date on your computer.

Test with Different Content

  • Try printing a different document or image to determine if the issue is related to specific content.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, the cartridges might need to be replaced (even if they’re not empty) as they could be defective.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
