Hi @Grammys1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

If your HP Envy printer is showing that the ink level is sufficient, yet the print quality is poor, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP and refilled cartridges can lead to print quality issues.
  • Check if the ink cartridges are properly installed. Misaligned cartridges can impact print output.

Perform an Ink Cartridge Cleaning:

  • Go to the printer control panel and select the option for cleaning printheads.

Check the Paper Quality:

  • Ensure that the paper type matches the media you have selected in the printer settings. Using premium paper can improve the output quality.

Review Print Settings:

  • In the printer software on your computer, check the print settings for paper type, print quality, and other options that can be adjusted to better fit your specific print job.
  • Make sure to select the highest print quality setting available for your document type.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report:

  • From the printer control panel, print a diagnostic report to help identify and troubleshoot any specific issues.

Align the Printheads:

  • Aligning the printheads can correct alignment flaws, which often cause poor print quality.

Check the Ink Nozzles:

  • Ensure that the nozzles are not clogged. Some printers have an option to print a nozzle check pattern.

Automatic Printhead Cleaning:

  • Perform an automatic cleaning through the printer's software to clear any blockages.

Replace Cartridges:

  • If all else fails, consider replacing the cartridges, especially if you notice defects in specific colors.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Update your printer's firmware via the HP website to ensure you have the latest enhancements and fixes.

Take care and have an amazing day!
