When printing, the red color is missing or lacking. The ink status shows plenty of ink for all three colors, about 75%.
Advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi @MaryJMC,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the red color is missing or lacking in your printouts despite the ink status showing sufficient ink levels, there are several potential reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Run Printer Maintenance:
- Many printers, including the HP DeskJet 3755, have a maintenance or cleaning utility. Use this feature to clean the printheads. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to run the printhead cleaning utility.
Check Ink Levels Again:
- Double-check the ink levels using the printer software or control panel. Ensure that the ink levels are accurately reflected. Sometimes, the ink level indicators may not be entirely accurate, and there could be a problem with the cartridge itself.
Replace or Reinsert the Cartridges:
- Remove the color cartridge responsible for the red ink and check for any visible issues or leaks. Reinsert the cartridge properly, ensuring it is securely in place. If the problem persists, consider replacing the color cartridge.
Print a Test Page:
- Print a test page to check if the issue persists. Many printers have a self-test or diagnostic page feature. This can help you determine whether the problem lies with the printer hardware or the computer/software.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Generic or third-party cartridges may not provide the same quality or reliability. HP printers are designed to work best with genuine HP cartridges.
Check Color Settings:
- Ensure that your printer and computer color settings are correct. Sometimes, incorrect color settings can result in printouts that do not accurately reflect the colors in the document.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. Visit the official HP website to download and install the most up-to-date drivers for your printer model.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again. This can sometimes resolve software or communication issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
