It appears that my blue ink nozzle is non-functional. I've tried all of the diagnostic fixes available to no avail. The other colors work fine and the printer responds to all cleaning instructions, etc. except for the blue! I'm thinking I need to replace the printhead. If this is the case, what part should I order?

Hi @DER001,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Consider a Deep Cleaning Before Replacing
If you haven’t already, try a manual printhead cleaning:
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Dampen a lint-free cloth with warm distilled water and gently wipe the printhead.
- Let it air dry for 10 minutes, reinstall the cartridges, and run the cleaning cycle again.
Confirm Printhead Replacement Compatibility
- The HP 6978 uses the HP 906XL, 902, and 902XL ink cartridges, and the printhead is integrated into the printer.
- The compatible printhead assembly is HP part number 9329A005AA (sometimes labeled CR324A).
