Hello everyone. I have a deskjet 4155e. When I go to print a document, it will put the paper through like it is printing but there is no ink on the paper. I have a brand new ink cartridge in. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi @LaurenS7,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering a common issue that can occur with printers, especially if the ink cartridges are new or the printer hasn't been used for a while. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP DeskJet 4155e printer:
Check Ink Cartridges: Since you've mentioned installing a new ink cartridge, ensure that the protective tape on the nozzle of the ink cartridge has been removed. Sometimes, this step is overlooked, preventing ink from leaving the cartridge.
Use Printer's Cleaning Function: Most modern printers, including the DeskJet 4155e, have a built-in cleaning function that can be accessed from the printer menu or the software on your computer. This process can help clear any clogged nozzles on the print head.
Alignment: After installing new cartridges, it's a good idea to run the printer's alignment function. This ensures that the print head and ink cartridges are correctly aligned for optimal printing quality.
Check Printer Settings: On your computer, look at the printer settings to make sure you're using the correct paper type and print quality settings. Incorrect settings might result in poor print quality or no ink being applied.
Update Printer Firmware and Drivers: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. HP regularly releases updates to improve performance and resolve known issues. You can check for updates on the HP website by entering your printer model.
Manual Cleaning: If the automated cleaning doesn't help, you might need to manually clean the print head. You can find tutorials online on how to carefully remove the print head (if removable) and use distilled water or a cleaning solution to clean the nozzles. Be very careful if you choose to do this, as it could potentially damage your printer if not done correctly.
Check for Paper Size and Type: Ensure that the paper size and type settings on your printer match the actual paper you're using. Misalignment between these settings can sometimes cause printing issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
