On October 23 of last year, I reported that the print quality of my Smart Tank Plus 651 had degraded somewhat. Whenever I printed a document, there were parts of it that didn't completely print, as if the ink was running out, even though the ink wells still have ink.

However, when I printed a document a few months ago - with the text colored in blue - it printed without any degredation. This leads me to believe that something is causing the black ink to have the degredation I referred to in my 2021 post.

  • Do you've another set of inks with you?

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure. Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
