Hp envy 6055, print quality tools page does not open on my android phone Chrome browser, says

Your connection is not private

Hello @sharonovaz, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that on your HP ENVY 6055, you are unable to access the printer's Print Quality Tools page from your Android phone because Chrome displays the message "Your connection is not private." I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

This behavior is commonly related to the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) security certificate rather than a printer hardware issue. HP printers use a self-signed certificate for local network access, which modern mobile browsers may flag as untrusted.

Please try the following advanced troubleshooting steps:

1. Verify You Are Accessing the Correct Printer IP Address

  • Print a Network Configuration Report or view the printer's IP address from the HP app.
  • Enter the IP address directly into the Chrome address bar.
  • Confirm that the IP address matches the printer currently connected to your network.

2. Try Accessing the EWS from a Computer

  • Open a web browser on a Windows or Mac computer connected to the same network.
  • Enter the printer's IP address.
  • Check whether the Print Quality Tools page opens successfully.

This helps determine whether the issue is specific to the Android browser.

3. Confirm Network Consistency

  • Ensure the Android device and the HP ENVY 6055 are connected to the same Wi‑Fi network.
  • Disable any VPN, Private DNS, mobile data switching, or network security applications temporarily.
  • Refresh the printer page and test again.

4. Clear Browser Data

  • Open Chrome Settings.
  • Clear cached files and cookies.
  • Close and reopen Chrome.
  • Attempt to access the printer's EWS again.

5. Check the Printer's Embedded Web Server

If you can access the EWS from a computer:

  • Navigate to Settings or Network Settings.
  • Review any available security or certificate options.
  • Restart the printer after saving any changes.

To assist further, please provide:

  • Whether the privacy warning appears when accessing the printer IP address itself or only when opening the Print Quality Tools page.
  • A screenshot of the full error message.

This information will help determine whether the issue is related to the browser's certificate validation, network configuration, or the printer's Embedded Web Server.

Have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.
