HP Desk Jet 2700e printer.
After installing a new ink cartridge in my printer I was able to print a diagnostic sheet after installing the cartridge and then bring it probably four five maybe 10 pages. And then I started having issues.
I'm using an official HP cartridge.
*** I'm running with just one cartridge the tricolor I don't have a black cartridge at the moment and the printer is in a single cartridge mode and printer settings are set to print black and white.***
Here's the a photo of the print quality diagnostic.
Anybody has any useful information or would be much appreciated.

Hi @gister63,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding print quality issues on the HP DeskJet 2700e printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Make sure the tricolor cartridge is properly installed. Verify that it is seated correctly in its slot.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
- As mentioned, you are using an official HP cartridge. It's crucial for optimal performance.
Printing in Single Cartridge Mode:
- When using only the tricolor cartridge, the printer is set to blend colors to produce black and other colors. Ensure that the printer settings allow for this in the software you're using.
Perform Printhead Cleaning:
- Use your printer's control panel or software to perform a printhead cleaning. This can help resolve streaks or missing colors from the print.
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure that the print settings are correct. Setting the print mode to grayscale or black-and-white when using a tricolor cartridge might limit print efficacy.
Print a Diagnostic Page:
- Re-initiating the printing of a diagnostic page can help assess the status and alignment of the printheads for clarity.
Run Printer Alignments:
- Perform an alignment on the cartridge. This involves printing an alignment page and then scanning it using the printer's scanner to recalibrate the printheads.
Inspect the Cartridge:
- Examine the tricolor cartridge for debris or clogging on the print nozzles. If necessary, clean the contacts gently with a lint-free cloth.
Update Printer Firmware:
Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
Use High Quality Paper:
- Use paper recommended by HP to ensure the ink is absorbed properly and avoids print streaks or smudges.
I hope this helps.
