If I print  test pages they look good but documents look like it is out of ink but it is not. Using black/white setup. Why do test pages look good but not my pdf document?

Thanks,

Jeff

@Walleye85, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the print quality is not satisfactory. The test pages require less amount of ink than the documents you are printing from a computer.

  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues

Make sure you are using HP inks.

Check the ink levels, clean the black ink cartridge up to 2 times(remove the color), and try printing.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
