Hi @Choryin,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer prints only in black and white after being reconnected to a new network, it could be due to a setting or software issue. Here’s how you can troubleshoot.

Check Printer Preferences

  • On your computer, go to the Control Panel > Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac).
  • Right-click on the HP ENVY 4520 Printer and select Printing Preferences or Printer Properties.
  • Look for a Print in Grayscale option and ensure it is set to Off or Color Printing.
  • Save changes and try printing a test page.

Update/Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support page for ENVY 4520 and download the latest driver or full feature software.
  • Uninstall the existing printer driver:
    • On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, find your printer software, and uninstall it.
    • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click the printer, and remove it.
  • Reinstall the printer with the updated software.

Verify Network Connection

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer's control panel to confirm the network connection is stable.

Test With Another Document or Application

  • Sometimes the problem might be with the specific document or application. Try printing from another application to see if the issue persists.

Perform a Power Cycle

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 1-2 minutes, then reconnect it and turn it back on.
  • Retry printing.

Check Ink Cartridges

  • Ensure that the color ink cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient ink.
  • Use the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app to check ink levels.

Reset the Printer

  • Perform a factory reset on the printer:
    • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
  • Reconfigure the network settings and test printing.

Print Test Page in Color

  • Once troubleshooting is complete, print a test page:
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Print Quality Report.
    • Verify if the color prints correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
