@MargaretCHarmon, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your HP Envy 5055 is experiencing issues with missing lines or words during printing, there are several steps you can take to resolve the problem. Here are the recommended troubleshooting steps:
Check Ink Levels:
- Make sure that the ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Low ink levels can cause poor print quality.
Clean Printhead:
- The printhead may be clogged or dirty. You can use the printer's built-in tool to clean the printhead. Here's how to do it:
- From the printer control panel, go to the Settings menu.
- Navigate to Tools.
- Select Clean Printhead.
Align Printhead:
- Realign the printhead to ensure proper alignment. Here's how to do it:
- From the printer control panel, go to the Settings menu.
- Navigate to Tools.
- Select Align Printhead.
Print a Test Page:
- Print a test page to evaluate the print quality. Confirm that all the colors and text are correctly printed.
Check Paper Quality:
- Ensure you're using the correct type of paper for your printer. Poor quality paper can also affect print quality.
Check for software issues:
- Make sure you have the latest printer drivers and software installed. You can download updates from the HP Support website.
