I am trying to print wireless to HP Envy Pro 6458 printer/scanner. The system says my cartridge levels are okay, but the test print does not look
right. I follow the prompts and clean the cartridges, align the cartridges and reprint. I get the same result. When I try to print my document
all the dialog is either so tiny it's not legible or has a blank line running through it. Any ideas or suggestions? Thankyou.

Hi @Gina6458,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing printing issues with your HP Envy Pro 6458 printer/scanner. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the official HP website, search for your printer model, and download the latest drivers compatible with your operating system.
- Check Print Settings: Ensure that the print settings in your document are configured correctly. Make sure the paper size, layout, and other print settings match your document and preferences.
- Printer Calibration: Some printers have a calibration or alignment process. Run the calibration or alignment utility on your printer to ensure that the printhead is properly aligned.
- Print a Test Page: If you haven't already, print a test page directly from the printer. This can help you determine if the issue is related to the printer itself or the communication between the computer and the printer.
- Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove the cartridges, clean the contacts, and reinsert them. Ensure that you have removed any protective tapes or covers from the cartridges.
- Update Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can often address various issues and improve overall performance.
- Adjust Print Quality Settings: In your printer settings, adjust the print quality settings. Sometimes, lower quality settings can result in issues with text legibility. Try selecting a higher quality or standard setting.
- Reinstall Printer: Remove the printer from your computer and reinstall it. This process can refresh the connection and resolve any potential software conflicts.
- Check for Software Conflicts: Ensure that there are no conflicts with other printer-related software or security software on your computer. Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall software to see if it makes a difference.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
