@MER2025, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Bad Print Quality on HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you are experiencing poor print quality despite changing ink cartridges and performing multiple cleanings, there are several steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
Solution 1: Use Genuine HP Cartridges
Ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges. Non-HP cartridges can affect print quality and are not covered under HP warranty.
Solution 2: Check the Paper
Make sure you are using the correct type of paper for your print job. Load paper print-side down in the input tray. Ensure the paper is not wrinkled or curled and use high-quality paper, especially for photos.
Solution 3: Wait a Short Period of Time
Allow the printer to sit idle for about 40 minutes. Sometimes, this period of inactivity can resolve certain print quality issues.
Solution 4: Check the Print Settings
Verify that the print settings are appropriate for your print job:
- Print Quality: Adjust the print quality setting, especially if the current prints are unsatisfactory.
- Paper Type: Ensure the selected paper type matches your actual paper.
- Print in Grayscale: Ensure this setting is not selected if you are printing in color.
Solution 5: Check Estimated Ink Levels
Check the estimated ink levels on your printer and replace any low or empty cartridges. Refill cartridges might not provide accurate ink level readings.
Solution 6: Print and Evaluate a Diagnostic Report
Print a diagnostic report to identify any defects:
- Load letter or A4 paper into the input tray.
- On the product control panel, press Setup, select Print Report, select Print Quality, and then press OK.
- Evaluate the report for defects. If you see any defects, proceed to the next solution.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
