I just installed a new inkjet printer and paid for the Instant Ink plan (100 pages / mth). A print job began to fail after about 25 pages with the printer informing me the ink cartridges were low. Does this trigger HP to send replacement ink cartridge[s] or do I have to do something else?

Hi @atolley,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When you subscribe to the HP Instant Ink plan for your HP Envy 6555e All-in-One Printer, the service automatically monitors your ink levels and usage. Here is how it works and what to do if you encounter low ink warnings:
How HP Instant Ink Sending Process Works:
- Automatic Monitoring:
- HP Instant Ink closely monitors your ink levels via the printer’s internet connection.
- Trigger for Replacement:
- When the ink levels are low, HP automatically triggers a shipment of replacement ink cartridges before you run out.
- Arrival of Cartridges:
- Replacement cartridges usually arrive within 7–10 days. The timing ensures you receive cartridges before the current ones are completely empty.
What to Do If Ink Levels Are Low:
Check Cartridge Shipment Status:
- Sign in to your HP Instant Ink account to check the status of your upcoming cartridge shipment.
- Go to the Ink Shipment section to see if a shipment has been initiated.
I hope this helps.
