Welcome to the HP Community --

Printers, including your unknown model using an unknown application or software program, are generally unaware of what they are printing, scanning, or even copying.

Copy is a function of the printer --

IF your printer supports Resize

AND

Should you select Resize, it is possible to greatly enlarge the resulting printed page(s).

Applications that do not understand the concept of scale might print whatever they are given --

For example,

Printing from a webpage that was greatly magnified due to having been viewed on a tiny screen might result in a larger print.

Applications that do not understand the concept of scale might print to paper size.

For example, HP Smart / HP App Mobile -- unless specifically told other wise - print the content at the size of the paper.

The following Answer was generated by Copilot -

No printer model provided

If your printer is printing content too large—like text spilling off the page or images appearing oversized—it’s usually a formatting or scaling issue. Here’s how to troubleshoot it:

🛠 Common Causes & Fixes

1. Page Scaling Settings

  • Check the print dialog box before printing.

  • Look for options like “Scale,” “Fit to Page,” or “Actual Size.”

  • Try setting it to “Fit to Printable Area” or manually reduce the scale (e.g., 100% → 90%).

2. Document Page Size Mismatch

  • Your document might be set to a different paper size than your printer.

  • In Word, PDF, or other editors, go to Page Setup and confirm it matches your printer’s paper (e.g., A4 vs. Letter).

3. Printer Driver Issues

  • Outdated or incorrect drivers can mess with formatting.

  • Visit your printer manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver for your model.

4. Margins and Layout

  • Check if the document has custom margins or layout settings that push content beyond the printable area.

  • Reset margins to default or use “Print Preview” to spot layout problems.

5. PDF or Web Print Quirks

  • PDFs and websites sometimes ignore standard print settings.

  • Use the browser’s or PDF viewer’s print options to adjust scale or layout.
