When I print the printed page is incomplete. Printed page has random streaks, lines, and ink is sporadic. I checked the ink cartridge it is half full. This is specific to the black ink printing cartridge. Its behaving like its dry, dirty or maybe ink build up blocking proper ink application, not sure? I'm Not sure if this is possible, there are no printer errors, and my printer is not sensing the incomplete page printing issue. Has anyone experienced this? My unit is a HP OfficeJet Pro 8710.
Thanks for any advice.

Hi @Josh0011,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing printing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, particularly with the black ink cartridge. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to address the problem.
Clean the Printhead:
- Many printers have a built-in utility to clean the printhead. Check your printer's manual or settings to find and run the printhead cleaning utility.
Check for Ink Buildup:
- Make sure there is no dried ink or buildup on the printhead or inside the printer. You can clean it using a lint-free cloth or cotton swab with distilled water. Be careful not to touch the nozzles.
Check Ink Cartridge Expiry:
- Ensure that the black ink cartridge is not expired. If it is, consider replacing it with a new one.
Align the Printhead:
- Some printers have an alignment feature. Check your printer's settings to align the printhead for optimal print quality.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed. Check the HP website for any available updates.
Print a Test Page:
- Print a test page to check if the issue persists. This can help identify whether the problem is specific to certain documents or a general printing issue.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-genuine cartridges may cause printing problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
