Hello everyone, 

Hope to get some advice.  I have a printer that was working fine then all of a sudden it said "there is a problem with the printer or ink system.  Turn off then on.  If problem persists, contact HP.  Its a All-in-one printer HP Office Jet Pro 8600.  went a bought a whole set of new ink  HP ink cost $100+.  Still have the same problem,  How expensive to get a printer fix now a day? Or take the lost of ink and buy a new printer and new ink?  Thanks

Restart the Printer and Computer

  • Turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
