HP LaserJet Pro M404dn

Hi Experts,

I am in the process of procuring an HP Printer but having some confusion.

I known the printer comes with genuine HP cartridges and as per below link (HP Laserjet 404dn) the two things are mentioned.

1. Monthly Duty Cycle : 80,000 Pages

2. Recommended Monthly Page Volume : 750 - 4,000

https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-laserjet-pro-m404dn

So which value should I consider for the first cartridges?

Also, i see that the replacement cartridges have a different range so should I consider if I place original cartridges

The Monthly duty cycle and Recommended monthly duty cycle has nothing to do with cartridge consumption.

You have 2 options for toner cartridges:

1. standard yield  with 3000 pages ( you receive this cartridge with the new printer)

2. high yield with 10 000 pages.

Copy/paste from the printers specification:

  • [10] Duty cycle is defined as the maximum number of pages per month of imaged output. This value provides a comparison of product robustness in relation to other HP LaserJet or HP Color LaserJet devices, and enables appropriate deployment of printers and MFPs to satisfy the demands of connected individuals or groups.
  • [11] HP recommends that the number of pages per month of imaged output be within the stated range for optimum device performance, based on factors including supplies replacement intervals and device life over an extended warranty period
