Hi @SteveConnie,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've replaced all the toner cartridges in your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw, but the printer still shows a "low toner" error and the print quality is poor, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.
-
Check Toner Cartridge Installation: Ensure that each toner cartridge is installed correctly. Make sure they are securely in place.
-
Shake the Cartridges: Sometimes, the toner inside the cartridge may settle unevenly. Try gently shaking each cartridge from side to side to redistribute the toner evenly.
-
Clean the Corona Wires: If your printouts have streaks or other print quality issues, the corona wires on the toner cartridges may be dirty. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to clean the corona wires.
-
Check for Protective Strips: Ensure that you have removed any protective strips or seals from the toner cartridges before installation. These strips can interfere with the printing process.
-
Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve various issues.
-
Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the error messages.
-
Check Toner Sensors: The printer may have sensors that detect the toner levels. Check for any dirt or debris around these sensors. Clean them carefully with a lint-free cloth.
-
Print a Configuration Page: Print a configuration or status page from the printer's control panel. This page may provide information about the status of each toner cartridge.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
