How do I fix a HP Officejet Pro 8620 with a printer failure error. Power cycling doesn't do anything.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

 

Also, try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Hi, I have the exact same problem, problem with the printer or ink system. So I followed the direction to reset the printer by unplugging power cord from the printer and the outlet, and wait for 60 sec then plug back in, but it still shows the same error message.

I tried firmware update as well, but the update failed, it said I need to turn off the printer, turn back on, then retry to update. But to be honest with you, I feel like this ink system error made us stuck in the middle, without going forward or backward. I can't go to the main page at all to try other trouble shootings. What should I do?
