Hi @Pwall1,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY 5661 e-All-in-One Printer is not printing cyan color, even with new cartridges, here are a few steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cyan cartridge is installed correctly and securely in the printer. Remove it and reinstall it to make sure it is seated properly.

Perform a Printhead Cleaning:

  • Go to the printer’s control panel.
  • Navigate to the settings or maintenance menu.
  • Select "Printhead Cleaning" or a similar option. This process can help clear any clogs in the printhead that might be affecting the cyan color.

Check for Clogs or Ink Flow Issues:

  • Perform a “Print Quality Diagnostic” or “Print Quality Report” from the printer’s settings menu to see if the cyan color is missing or if there are other issues.
  • If the print quality diagnostic report shows missing cyan lines or gaps, it may indicate a clog or other issue with the printhead.

Inspect the Printhead:

  • Turn off the printer and open the access door to locate the printhead.
  • Check for any visible obstructions or ink buildup on the printhead.
  • If necessary, gently clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth moistened with distilled water. Avoid touching the nozzles directly.

Update Printer Firmware and Drivers: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure that you have the latest firmware installed for your printer.
  • Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest drivers and software for your printer.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Make sure that the printer settings are configured to print in color and that you are not using a grayscale or black-and-white setting.

Try a Different Paper Type:

  • Sometimes, the type of paper used can affect print quality. Try printing on a different type of paper to see if the issue persists.

Replace the Printhead:

  • If none of the above steps work, the printhead itself might be faulty. Consider replacing the printhead if it is a removable component.
