HP Envy 5055. I have installed new cartridges from Green Box. Never been an issue. I’ve used them since the beginning.  Now, the printer won’t align.  I’ve printed multiple alignment and print quality pages. Performed multiple head cleanings. I’ve hard reset. Realigned, cleaned, removed and replaced I’ll cartridges, and still it won’t print properly. Seeking other solutions.  TIA

Hi @CardinalBara,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Thanks for explaining everything you’ve already tried, that helps narrow down the issue with your HP Envy 5055. Since alignment keeps failing even after multiple cleanings and resets, here are some deeper checks that often resolve this:

Verify cartridge type

Even if Green Box worked before, firmware updates can cause compatibility issues.

Try testing with genuine HP cartridges if possible.

Run alignment

Use an automated tool to align the ink cartridges.

On the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu, and then touch Printer Maintenance or Tools.

Touch Align Printhead, and then follow the prompts on the control panel.

An alignment page prints.

Inspect printhead contacts

Remove the cartridges and check the copper contacts on both the cartridges and inside the carriage.

Clean gently with a lint‑free cloth and distilled water if you see ink or debris.

Check the paper feed.

Misfeeds can cause alignment pages to print incorrectly.

Make sure paper is loaded snugly, not bent, and that rollers are clean.

Update printer firmware

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

If cyan/magenta/black channels are failing to align consistently, the integrated printhead may be worn out. The 5055 uses cartridges with built-in printheads, so replacing them with fresh HP cartridges usually resolves this.

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
