When I copy or scan from the flatbed of MFP277dw Laserjet Pro Color printer the output is fine. If I use the automatic document feeder, the right side of the page gets a dark gray shadow. What do I need to clean? I already set the darkness setting all the way to lowest setting.

I think a glass cleaner should do the trick, Clean the scanner glass and parts
Then scan a blank A4 sheet (with 300 dpi) and upload it here, click on the icon "Insert photos", "Set format = Large", original size at least 200 KB.
Much success

Thanks Andr-1611, I tried cleaning that surface. The area of the page getting gray spots got worse. I gather I just spread out what ever the scanner is seeing. I used a very mild vinegar glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth. The material appears to be glass or a polycarbonate. Can you suggest what cleaner to use?
