No matter what I do my printer only prints blank pages. I've changed the ink, updated it, cleaned the print head, nothing. The only time a hint of printing happens is after cleaning the print head, a very faint alphabet can be seen in the middle of the page. Nothing else results in any kind of mark at all. I'm at my wits end, please help.

Hi @Lauren1235,

I understand your printer is only printing blank pages, even after replacing ink, updating the printer, and cleaning the printhead, with only a very faint result after cleaning. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm all protective tape is removed
Remove all ink cartridges and double-check that no orange or clear protective tape remains.
Even a small piece of tape can completely block ink flow.

Reseat all ink cartridges
Remove every cartridge, wait about 30 seconds, then reinstall them firmly until they click.
Close the access door and allow the printer to fully initialize.

Print a print quality diagnostic page
Print a diagnostic or test page directly from the printer’s control panel.
This bypasses the computer and confirms whether the printer can place ink on paper at all.

Run only one additional printhead cleaning
Perform a single cleaning cycle, then wait 15–20 minutes before printing again.
Repeated cleanings in a short time can worsen ink starvation.

Power reset the printer
With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and the wall.
Wait at least 60 seconds, then plug it directly into a wall outlet and turn it back on.

Check ink flow by printing color-heavy content
Print a page with solid color blocks, not text only.
This helps pull ink through if the printhead is partially blocked.

Verify paper and print settings
Make sure plain paper is loaded and selected in the print settings.
Incorrect paper type or draft/economy mode can result in extremely faint output.

Check cartridge age and printer usage history
Ink can dry out inside the printhead if the printer hasn’t been used regularly.
Ink levels may still appear full even when ink is no longer flowing correctly.

I hope this helps.
