Hi @ericaviola,
Thank you for your reply
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 6000 Series printer is only printing in black and white despite the settings being correctly configured, try these troubleshooting steps:
Step 1: Check the Color Ink Levels
- Ensure that the color ink cartridge is not empty or critically low.
- If the color cartridge is depleted, replace it with a new one.
Step 2: Perform a Printer Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Then try printing again.
Step 3: Confirm Color Settings in the Printer Driver
- Open the Printers & Scanners settings on your Windows 11 computer.
- Select your printer and click Manage > Printing Preferences.
- Under the Paper/Quality or Color tab, confirm that Color Printing or Color Mode is selected.
- Make sure Print in Grayscale is not checked anywhere.
Step 4: Run a Printhead Cleaning
- Open the HP Smart app or your printer’s settings.
- Locate and run the Printhead Cleaning or Maintenance tool.
- Print a test page to check if colors are restored.
Step 5: Reinstall the Printer Driver
- Open Device Manager and uninstall the printer driver.
- Download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website.
- Restart your computer and reconnect the printer.
Step 6: Test a Different Document or App
- Sometimes the issue may be document-specific.
- Try printing a different file or from another application.
Step 7: Check the Printer Firmware
- Update the printer’s firmware via the HP Smart app or from the HP Support website.
- Follow the instructions to install the latest firmware version.
Step 8: Verify Printer Settings
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings or Preferences and check for any default settings that might restrict color printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
