HP LaserJet Enterprise M607dn

Hello,

We are looking to purchase the newer model of the HP M607DN (End of Life) which is a HP M610DN.

As it stands we have 2 HP M607DN printers, Both can use the standard toner cartridges as well as a MICR cartridges for check printing. Both of which look to be HP OEM and do not bare anything stating they have been modified by TROY to accept the MICR cartridges.

My question here is that do we have to have the new printers modified by TROY (Which are very expensive btw) or can we buy the new model (HP 610DN) without the TROY modifications and continue buying the MICR cartridges moving forward.

I have seen a variety of answers saying you do not have to have the TROY versions of the printers to be able to use the MICR toner and some say you do.

Can anyone shine some light on this?
