Hi @Simbob1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand you are having issues with the ink getting dried out quickly on your HP printer. Don't worry I'll do my best to help you with this.
When the printer is not in use it will go to sleep mode, wake up from time to time to do maintenance to the printhead, and then will go back to sleep.
If this maintenance is not done, the nozzles on the printhead will dry out.
I would suggest here is to Clean cartridges automatically
If the print quality is unacceptable, and the problem is not low ink levels or non-HP ink, try cleaning the cartridges.
To clean the cartridges from the printer display
1. From the Home screen, press the Settings icon. The Settings Menu is displayed.
2. Touch Tools.
3. Touch Clean Cartridges.
If you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue. I would suggest this could be a possible hardware issue with the printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
