HP Ink Tank Wireless 415

I'm getting cartridge problem all on a sudden. But it's the same cartridge that came with the printer. The tri colour cartridge is causing the issue. Are the circular copper circuits deteriorated or what? What's the solution? I tried hard reset and everything but still no luck, I also cleaned the contacts. I can assure that the printing is perfect and smooth, no issues there only after a few prints, the problem reappears.1750309849213.jpg1750309849203.jpgScreenshot 2025-06-19 144731.png

Hi @TF_3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are experiencing repeated “Cartridge Problem” errors, specifically with the tri-color cartridge. The HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 printer prints smoothly for a while, then the error reappears, even though the Printhead is original and came with the printer.

HP Ink Tank printers use user-removable printheads (not disposable cartridges). Over time, the electronic contact points on the printhead or the printer carriage can:

  • Wear out or get micro-corrosion
  • Develop internal faults
  • Have a weak or failing electrical connection (even if visibly clean)

Even if print quality is unaffected, the printer's chip may fail to consistently read the printhead, resulting in repeated error messages.

Next Steps to Fix

  1. Check the Printer’s Printhead Carriage
    • Shine a flashlight inside the printer where the printhead connects and look for any bent or missing pins or signs of wear.
    • Gently clean those pins with a dry, lint-free cloth (no alcohol).

  2. Re-seat the Printhead Securely
    • Remove and reinsert the printhead, ensuring it clicks firmly into place.
    • Make sure the latch locks down tightly after reinstalling.

  3. Update Printer Firmware
  4. Test in Diagnostic Mode
    • Power off, hold the Resume + Cancel buttons, and power on the printer.
    • This may trigger a diagnostic check and bypass some sensor issues temporarily.

  5. Replace the Tricolor Printhead (if the issue persists)
    • If the error continues and all else fails, you’ll likely need a replacement tri-color printhead:
      • HP Part Number (India/Global): 3YP61AA (Tri-color Printhead)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
