After I swapped out the cartridge there was an amber light flashing  with the app saying failing to connect to the printer? I have used completely compatible cartridges and the packaging said that if this problem occurs just press ‘no’ and ‘ok’ ? I’m very confused and would like some help.
thank you

 Hi @Magnum7,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you fix the cartridge and connectivity issue with your HP DeskJet 2820e printer:

  1. Check Cartridge Compatibility:
  2. Ensure the cartridges you have used are compatible with the HP DeskJet 2820e. Refer to the list of compatible cartridge numbers for confirmation.
  3. Proper Installation:
  4. Open the printer's cartridge access door and verify that the cartridges are seated properly in the carriage.
  5. Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any protective tape that might be left on the contacts. If found, remove the tape carefully.
  6. Reinstall the cartridges by firmly placing them back into their respective slots.
  7. Reset the Printer:
  8. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  9. Wait for 30 seconds before plugging the printer back into the power outlet.
  10. Turn on the printer and check if the issue persists.
  11. Check Printer Status:
  12. Ensure that the printer is connected to the network properly. Check the connectivity options available (either USB or Wi-Fi).
  13. For wireless connections, ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  14. Firmware/Software Update:
  15. Make sure your printer software and firmware are up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.

You may also refer to this video link for cartridge errors.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
