Hi @B2sincere,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Verify Cartridge Compatibility:
- Make sure you are using the correct HP cartridges specifically designed for the ENVY Inspire 7900e series.
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Ensure each cartridge is installed in the correct slot and seated properly. Listen for a click sound that indicates they are securely in place.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove the cartridges and clean the copper-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth.
- Ensure no tape or packaging materials are sticking to the cartridges.
Reset the Printer:
- Reinstall the cartridges and close the access door.
- Plug the printer back into the power outlet and turn it on.
- Check if the issue persists after restarting.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. Visit HP Support to check for and install any available firmware updates.
Test Using HP Smart App:
- Use the HP Smart App to test the printer’s functionality and perform maintenance tasks. This can help identify and resolve issues.
Inspect the Ink Levels:
- Use the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app to check ink levels. Replace cartridges that might be empty or faulty.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cord.
- Turn on the printer and check if the cartridges are now recognized.
I hope this helps.
