Hi @Lucaollie

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps to adjust the control panel on your HP Envy Inspire 7900e so you can access the ink cartridge area:

  1. Make sure the printer is powered off and unplugged before you attempt to move the control panel.
  2. Locate the control panel at the front of the printer. It is designed to tilt upward and downward.
  3. Place one hand on each side of the control panel for support.
  4. Apply gentle but firm pressure to tilt the panel downward toward the flat position. Do not force it—if it feels stuck, check for any obstruction such as paper or debris lodged near the hinges.
  5. Once the panel is lowered, you should be able to lift the scanner lid fully.
  6. Open the lid carefully and access the ink cartridge area. Replace the cartridges as needed.
  7. After replacing the cartridges, close the lid securely and tilt the control panel back to your preferred viewing angle.

If the panel does not move smoothly, double-check that nothing is blocking the hinge mechanism. Sometimes dust or small fragments of paper can restrict movement. Cleaning around the hinge area with a dry cloth may help.
