My printer doesn't printer the advertised number of pages using the original ink cartridges in the multipack: HP N9J73AE 364 Original Ink Cartridges, Black/Cyan/Magenta/Yellow.
The advertised yield is: Black 250 Pages, Cyan 300 Pages, Magenta 300 Pages, Yellow 300 Pages, but I get no where near these numbers.
In addition to the cartridges in the multipack, I also use the "HP 364 Photo Original Ink Cartridge".
I don't print very often - perhaps on average about 5 pages in a month (or even less), but I can spend 2 or 3 months without printing anything.
I last replaced all the cartridges in December 2020 because (as usual) the printer was low in ink. I then printed a few pages last December. I now (4 months later) need to print 3 pages in black and white, but the printer is low in ink again!! I have tried to print the pages 3 times, but no success. I've also cleaned the cartridges, but it makes no difference.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks

Hi,
This is expected with such an IIC printer, more ink will be used for servicing needs with long time between print job to another...
You may find more about ink usage below, see the Time between print jobs impacts ink available for printing section:

Generally, printers with 4 individual ink cartridges uses more ink to keep the printer health, as the print-head is in the printer and not ink the ink cartridge.

@ShlomiL is completely correct. Ink printers must perform maintenance on a regular basis or ink will dry/congeal preventing printing. For extreme low use cases such as yours, I always recommend a laser based printer over inkjet. Ink is great but only in environments where they will see steady consistent use.
