@ccanders, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
If your HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer suddenly stopped printing Word or Excel documents but still prints PDFs, the issue is likely related to the print driver or application settings. Here are some steps to help resolve it:
Restart Everything
- Power off your printer and unplug it.
- Restart your computer.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check Default Printer
- On your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Make sure your HP ENVY 6055e is set as the default printer.
Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver
- Visit the official HP support page: Official HP® Support
- Download and install the latest full-feature driver or HP Smart app.
Try Printing from Word/Excel Again
- Open a Word or Excel document.
- Go to File > Print, and ensure the correct printer is selected.
- Try printing a simple document (e.g., just one line of text).
Repair Office Installation (if needed)
Sometimes Office apps may have internal issues:
- Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
- Select Microsoft Office, then click Change > Quick Repair.
Additional Tips
- Try printing the same Word/Excel file as a PDF (File > Save As > PDF) and see if it prints.
- Ensure your Office apps are up to date via Microsoft 365 or Windows Update.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
