Hi @hiebur3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The poor print quality you're experiencing with your HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer could be caused by one or more of the following issues.
Low or Dried-Out Ink Cartridges
- If the ink cartridges are running low or dried out, it can lead to incomplete or missing text in prints.
- Solution: Check the ink levels using the HP Smart app or your printer's software. Replace the cartridges if they are low or expired.
Clogged Printhead Nozzles
- Even after multiple cleaning cycles, stubborn clogs might not clear.
- Solution:
- Remove the ink cartridges and use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the copper contacts and nozzles on the cartridges.
- Let them dry completely before reinserting.
Incorrect Paper Settings
- Incorrect settings might cause misalignment or partial printing.
- Solution: Make sure the paper size and type selected in the print settings match the paper you are using.
Alignment Issues
- Misaligned cartridges can result in poor print quality.
- Solution: Run the Alignment Tool:
- Open the HP Smart app or your printer's software.
- Look for "Align Printhead" or a similar option in the Maintenance or Tools section.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Outdated Printer Drivers
- Old or incompatible drivers can cause poor printing performance.
- Solution: Update the printer driver:
- Visit the HP Support page for the DeskJet 2630.
- Download and install the latest driver for your operating system.

Faulty Cartridges
- Sometimes, cartridges might be defective even if they are new.
- Solution: If you recently replaced the cartridges, try using a different set to rule out cartridge issues.
Note:
Print a Diagnostic Report:
- On the printer, hold the Resume/Cancel button until the printer starts printing a report.
- This report can help identify if the issue is with the printhead or cartridge.
Replace Ink Cartridges (if needed):
- Use genuine HP cartridges for the best results.
Hard Reset:
- Unplug the printer from the power source while it is turned on.
- Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
