Hi, I have purchased new but older printer HP Photosmart D7260. Instead put a new ink that came with the printer I used old one (from the same printer but my old one stoped working). When I did it I received this error 0xc18a3e02. How I can restart this printer or is it garbage and nothing can be done? Restartin and unpluging the printer doesn't work.

Hi @RenataZbiegiel,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP Photosmart D7260 is showing an error 0xC18A3E02 after inserting an old ink cartridge instead of the new one that came with the printer. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
a. Power Cycle the Printer
Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall.
Wait for 1–2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
b. Remove and Reinsert Cartridges
Open the ink cartridge access door.
Remove all cartridges and inspect for any leaks, damage, or debris.
Reinsert only the new cartridges that came with the printer, making sure they click firmly into place.
c. Clean Cartridge Contacts
Gently wipe the gold/copper contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth or coffee filter slightly dampened with distilled water.
Let them dry completely before reinserting.
d. Reset the Printer
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back.
Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.
e. Verify Cartridge Compatibility
Make sure only cartridges designed for the D7260 model are installed. Old or refilled cartridges can sometimes trigger errors even if they physically fit.
I hope this helps.
