Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP SMART TANK 7605, lately the printer head stopped and says it needs to be changed, so i went to an hp specialist at Worten and he gave me replacements, not the same code but it works for my printer. So i changed the heads, turn off and on the printer and the heads went stuck to the far right and the printer goes off. Now i can´t make the heads goes to the middle in any way.

Hi @LaurentFakhoury,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're facing a technical issue with your HP Smart Tank 7605 printer after changing the printheads. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no obstructions or foreign objects blocking the movement of the printhead carriage. Look inside the printer carefully and remove anything that might be hindering the printhead's movement.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. See if the printhead carriage returns to the center.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware may resolve issues with the printer's functionality.
  • Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer and disconnect all cables. Wait for about 10 minutes, then reconnect the power cable and turn on the printer. Perform a test to see if the printhead carriage moves to the center.
  • Check for Error Messages: Look for any error messages or lights on the printer's control panel. These may provide clues about the nature of the problem.

Remember that changing printheads with replacements not specified for your printer model may cause compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
