Printer hp officejet 5255 prints blank pages

When I try to print files, it appears to be printing but pages come out blank. I would assume this is a clogged print head, except when I run print tests it prints color and black so it clearly can print. Please advise why it would print blank pages when printing documents or images, but print color and black when doing print tests.

 I'd like to help!

To better assist you - 

1) Does the copy print out the same way? 

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device? 

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

1. Load the printer with plain white paper.

2. On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup .

3. Touch Tools.

4. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Report.

   A Print Quality Diagnostic report prints.

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
