HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter - N811a/N811d

Hi there,

(Operating System MacOS Ventura 13.2.1)

I am experiencing issues with the HP Officejet 8100. The printer gives this error:

There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn the printer off, then on. If you continue to get this message, contact HP.

After doing it, the problem remains. I am attaching different messages I get. I can't print any type of document, not even a Test page, and when I press "Align" or "Clean printheads", the printer does not makes any noise or intention of movement.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Paola

Hi @paobag,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that has a ink system error.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

C) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.

Hi Irwin6,

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately the printer still doesn't work. I replaced the Cyan cartridge (as it was blinking and at about its 15%) but it doesn't seem to recognise the new one (C still blinking and ink supply level not updated).

Thank you in advance for further help.

Best regards

Hi @Irwin6,
Thanks again for your reply.
I have restored to factory defaults but the problem persists. The printer does not print.
I keep getting an error message and the printer does not respond even to print a test page. I attach some screen shots.

I would like to know if it could be a software or hardware problem.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards
