Hi there,
I have a HP OfficeJEt PRO 6978 which is skipping lines when printing. The print quality is generally very good, but some lines simply do not appear at all, or are cut off towards the bottom of the line. I changed from wifi to USB connection in the hope that it helps, but no luck. I also unplugged and replugged several times without success.
What can I do?

Hi @AngelaCi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
I understand you are facing a print quality issue.
To assist better-
1) Does the copy print out the same way?
2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?
While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -
-
Load plain white paper in the input tray.
-
From the printer control panel, open the Setup
menu.
-
Open the Reports or Tools menu.
-
Touch Print Quality Report.
Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.
You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer - Print Quality Issues
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
