I need help with a new printer malfunctioning, bleeding red onto every page. I tried filling out the call me back but the submit button doesn’t work. Anyone know how to get in touch with an actual person?

@TinaOk, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Malfunctions and Ink Bleeding!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like you're having trouble with your printer, specifically with it bleeding red ink onto every page. While there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this issue:

Printhead Cleaning:

  • Check that you have removed the protective tape from the printhead.
  • Clean the electrical contacts on both the printheads and the printhead carriage assembly using the carriage interconnect wiper.

Printhead Installation:

  • Ensure that you have correctly installed the printhead. The printhead should be the correct color for its slot, and oriented correctly.
  • If the printer persistently displays the message "RESEAT" for the printhead, try reinstalling it.

Printing Material:

  • Ensure that you're using compatible, high-quality printing materials. Using non-certified materials may lead to ink bleeding or other quality issues.

Printer Settings:

  • Adjust the drying time settings to automatic if it had been set to manual. This can prevent ink bleeding from lines.
  • Check the environmental conditions where the printing material is stored and used. Extreme conditions can affect the material and ink.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
