I just bought a new officejet pro 7740 and I have problems with the print quality when printing from my laptop (Windows 10) The quality is poor, colour doesn't work and lines are ziz zag type rather than straight. Printing seems to work when using a different laptop (Windows 😎 or Android mobile phone

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?
Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:
Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi Echo_Lake,
Thank you for your message. Windows 10 was updated recently before installing the new printer. I downloaded the latest firmware as well as the HP smart app although I still have problems, unfortunately. Prints are ok when using the usb cable connection but prints are still quite poor quality or not showing the colour and/or right line type when using the wireless connection. I also run HP Print and Scan Doctor although the issue can not be found.
This is quite frustrating as I would like to be able to get quality prints from my pc when using the wireless connection.

Thank you for posting back.
Let's try this:
Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP OfficeJet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
To reinstall, click here.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
