Printer leaving light streaks

HP Recommended
HP Officejet Pro 7740

Printer is leaving bands of lighter color in print jobs.  On about half of my print jobs, the printer is leaving about a 1.25-1.5 inch (3-4cm) band where the color is washed out.  One sheet will be fine, the next sheet will have the band on it.  The band does not always appear in the same spot on each sheet.  Black seems the most heavily affected by this, (not printing in the band at all) but the other colors are also significantly lighter.

Hi @SpudGal,

 I'd like to help!

To better assist you -

1) Does the copy print out the same way?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or devices?

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page

  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon .

  3. Swipe up on the display, touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer -  Print Quality Issues

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
