HP Smart Tank 720 All-in-One

I have a fairly new HP Smart Tank 720 printer bought last year for home use. It has stopped printing the magenta colour suddenly. I have run the printhead cleaning services UpTo level 3 for a number of times but to no use, magenta is not visible anywhere. The printer isn't giving any errors, the ink volume is good. Printer is printing everything but the colours are all wrong because magenta isnt printing. Please help ..

If your HP Smart Tank 720 printer is not printing magenta, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

 

  • Check ink levels: Make sure the magenta ink tank has sufficient ink levels. If it is low, refill or replace the ink tank.
  • Run a printer diagnostic test: Most HP printers come with a built-in diagnostic tool that can help identify any issues. You can access this tool through the printer's control panel or by using the HP Smart app. The diagnostic test will help identify any issues with the ink cartridge or the printhead.
  • Clean the printhead: If the diagnostic test reveals an issue with the printhead, you can try cleaning it manually. To do this, go to the printer's control panel and select "Setup." From there, select "Tools" and then "Clean Printhead." Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the cleaning process.
  • Replace the printhead: If cleaning the printhead doesn't work, you may need to replace it. Contact HP customer support or a certified HP service provider for assistance.
  • Check print settings: Make sure the print settings are set to "color" and not "black and white." Also, check the color balance settings to ensure that magenta is not turned off or down.
  • Update printer drivers: Check for any available software updates for your printer's drivers. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website or use the HP Smart app to update the drivers.

Thanks a lot Alden4 for your reply, but i have already performed these steps and with no benefit; so I just wanted to ask if there was any thing else that i could do before taking the printer to the service center.
