Our printer Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw, is out of warranty and is not recognizing our new color cartridges (all 3 Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow) as genuine. The toner was purchased through Stapes and I have verified that they are genuine through QR code. I have also attempted to update the firmware but I am on the latest firmware. I are able to re-insert the old, empty cartridge and the still printer will print but only the black toner which wasn't changed.
While I understand the desire to curb counterfeit toner it seems that there are several posts asking for help with this sort of issue across a variety of printer models. I question if the current methods are working the way you expect. Staples won't accept the toner for refund as they are already open, and I can't afford to be out the cost of the toner or have this printer out of service. What options do I have short of buying a non HP printer?
