Printer not recgnizing color printer. Have done hard reset, clraned contacts bought new cartridge still no success

Ensure Compatibility:

  • Verify that the cartridge is compatible with your specific printer model. Using a cartridge intended for a different printer model can cause recognition issues.

Check Installation:

  • Ensure that the cartridge is correctly installed in the printer. Sometimes, a cartridge may not be properly seated, causing the printer to fail to recognize it.

Non-HP Cartridge Warning:

  • If you are using non-HP cartridges, your printer might not recognize them. HP recommends using genuine HP cartridges to ensure compatibility and serviceability.

Cartridge Errors:

  • If your printer displays specific error messages related to the cartridges, follow the recommended actions provided in those messages. Here are some common cartridge errors and recommendations:
    • Cartridge Problem: Clean the contacts and ensure compatibility.
    • Incompatible Cartridge: Install the correct cartridge for your printer.
    • Used Color Cartridge Installed: No action is required if the cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge.

Printhead Cleaning:

  • Run the printhead cleaning procedure from the printer’s toolbox. Sometimes, cleaning the printhead can resolve recognition issues.
