Hi @7Adil07 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with the ink supply system in your HP Smart Tank 516, especially if air is trapped in the ink tubes or the yellow ink is not being picked up. Here are steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
1. Check the Ink Supply Tubes for Air
- Unclog or Re-prime the Tubes: Sometimes air gets trapped in the ink tubes, especially after replacing the ink or if the printer has been idle for a while. You can try gently squeezing the ink tubes to help push the air bubbles out.
- Check Ink Levels: Make sure the ink tanks are full and that the yellow ink tank isn't empty or low.
2. Perform a Printhead Cleaning
- From the Printer’s Control Panel: Go to the printer settings on the display and look for an option to clean or align the printhead. This may help with ink flow issues.
- From the HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device and navigate to your printer. From there, select the "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools" option, and run the cleaning cycle for the printhead.
3. Check for Clogs or Blockages
- Inspect the yellow ink nozzle in the printhead for any dried ink or debris. You can clean it gently with a soft, lint-free cloth if necessary.
4. Check for Ink Tubes or Connections
- If the air is trapped in the ink tubes, you may need to disconnect and reconnect the tubes carefully. Ensure they are firmly attached and there are no kinks or blockages in the tubing.
5. Reset the Printer
- Unplug the printer from the power source, wait 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in. This can sometimes reset the ink flow system.
6. Try a Soft Reset or Printer Firmware Update
- If none of the above solutions work, check for any firmware updates for your printer. Updating the printer firmware can sometimes resolve issues with ink flow and printing.
- A soft reset can be performed from the printer’s settings menu, which might help clear out any minor errors related to ink flow.
