@JoannFranklin, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer is showing as offline simply because of your home remodel and disconnections, there’s no need to worry. It sounds like everything is fine on the printer’s end—just temporarily unplugged or off the network. Here’s what you can do when you're ready to reconnect:
1. Power on the Printer
- Make sure the printer is plugged in and turned on.
2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- Use the printer's control panel to reconnect it to your home Wi-Fi:
- For touchscreen models: Go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- For non-touchscreen models: Use the WPS method or the HP Smart app to reconnect.
3. Restart Devices
- Restart your router, printer, and computer or phone to ensure everything syncs properly.
4. Open HP Smart App
- The app should auto-detect the printer if everything is on the same network.
- If not, tap “Set Up a New Printer.”
