I've used this printer a few times but recently moved it to a different room and when resetting up the printer it no longer prints. a few test pages have had little to no ink on them making the images barely visible. I wasn't worried about my expired warranty because it was working fine until now

Hi @Addi57,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be glad to help.

If your HP printer is printing blank or very faint pages after being moved, the printer is likely communicating with your computer correctly, but the ink is not reaching the paper. This is commonly caused by dried or clogged printhead nozzles, especially if the printer has not been used for some time.

Please try the following:

  1. Run the Printhead Cleaning utility from the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app. Perform the cleaning cycle up to 2–3 times, as each cycle helps clear dried ink from the nozzles.

  2. Clean the cartridges/printhead contacts by removing the cartridges and gently wiping the gold-colored electrical contacts and the printhead area with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with clean water.

  3. Soak the printhead nozzles (if needed): Place only the bottom 1 cm of the cartridge in warm water for 5–10 minutes, then blot it dry with a lint-free tissue until you see a solid ink line before reinstalling it.

After completing these steps, print a Print Quality Diagnostic or Test Page to check if the ink flow has been restored.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.
