Hi @ChrisPhil4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're still experiencing the "Printhead missing or incorrectly installed" error on your HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer after following the steps you mentioned, there are several additional troubleshooting steps you can try:
Clean the Printhead Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the printer cover to access the printhead and cartridges.
- Remove the printhead from the printer.
- Gently wipe the contacts on the printhead and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth or coffee filter. Be careful not to touch the nozzles.
- Reinsert the printhead and cartridges, ensuring they are securely in place.
Update Firmware:
- Visit the HP support website and check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model. Download and install any available updates following the instructions provided.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for a few minutes (at least 10-15 minutes).
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Replace the Printhead:
- If cleaning and resetting do not resolve the issue, it's possible that the printhead is faulty. You may need to replace the printhead.
Please note that working with printheads and printer internals can be delicate, so be cautious when handling them.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
